How do I amplify dialogue on my TV?
To boost dialogue volume, try selecting speech-enhancing modes like News, Clear Voice or a setting along those lines.
While you’re at it, turn off special “enhancements” like Dolby surround, virtual surround or 360 sound and see if that puts the dialogue further up front rather than the sound effects..
How do I make dialogue louder on my TV?
In the Settings menu, you’ll find an “Audio and Video” option. There you will find a feature called “Reduce loud sounds.” Technically, this is called a “dynamic range compression feature,” but it does exactly what it says. It reduces loud sounds but keeps the dialogue amplified.
Why is dialogue in movies so quiet?
The main reason is that films have a high dynamic range. The dialogue level is calibrated to be a pleasing level then the sound guys have the option to make the explosions really loud for excitement. That is completely inaccurate. Going from 5.1 to 2 or 2.1 doesn’t change the dynamics.
Why can’t I hear the dialogue on my TV?
TV Audio Settings In your TV’s audio or sound menu, check all settings. Some options, such as “night mode” flattens out sound and is not good for dialogue. Surround sound can also be an issue. Try turning these features off and listening to your program again.

its probably the dynamic range, you can reduce it by using “night mode” or similar (loudness, Dynamic Volume with Audyssey equipped receivers, …) I’d also try to increase the dialog level if your receiver has such feature, its common to raise it by few dbs. if not, you can increase the level of the center speaker.
Should Bass be higher than treble?
To most people, raising both bass and treble will sound better because it makes the speakers sound more powerful, or lots of treble sounds “crystal”.
